cigarettes - they really are evil
but they are an evil that I adore - the smell, the feeling of the slight burning at the back of the throat, that something to do when you are in the middle of a situation that is so overwhelming that you use it as a crutch to center yourself before you face your fears, how it pairs so damn well with a cup of coffee, that perfect little stress reliever for when you only have a few minutes to get away before you start attacking folks with the business end of an axe, blow darts, tentacled creatures or a combination there of...
I could go on...
but I won't
because they are bad - they killed my Father, and my dear Father in law has lung cancer which he is battling with grace, style and determination with the aide of his wife and family and friends
and I now how much it hurts those I love, and it is now time for me to say no more
I had quit in the past, but my old job was a bit overwhelming and I lapsed back into the nasty habit, trying to hide the fact that I had started it back up as I was ashamed that I failed - again
My last smoke was Sunday night
Some reminders for me:
cigarettes are not cool
cigarettes are not sexy
cigarettes stink and make me stink
cigarettes ruin my voice
cigarettes will kill me in a slow and painful way
Last night I survived being with someone who went out to smoke and I was OK
as savarian said - it is a dysfunctional relationship, and one I need to get away from...

I am so very sorry, but pardoning that twat for violating her parole by not drinking and driving really pisses me off as it proves the rich and famous are better than anyone else
'oops! so sorry - I didn't mean to kill that family of four as I could not make arrangement to get my sorry ass home when I started drinking - I promise I will never ever EVER do it again - no really! I mean it this time'
so there is a petition out there to keep her out of jail, but now there is one to tell Arnie that her ass needs to go there and STAY there - preferably for a lot longer than 45 days, but that was the sentence

the AFA otherwise known as the American Family Association is wondering how people would shop if people knew if the owner was gay or not - not sure if you are familiar with this organization, but let's just say they don't like folks that don't have the same definition of family
so they have this online poll asking if you knew that a corporation supports the 'homosexual agenda' (what the frak is that???) would you shop there...
of course the results are very much towards their beliefs - but maybe we can spread this around and show them that there are many definitions of the word 'family'
